Frequently asked questions.

Do you take insurance?

I don't accept insurance at this time. My practice is private pay only, but I do offer a sliding scale for those who need it. If cost is a concern, feel free to reach out—I'm happy to talk more about options and see what might be possible.

Is everything we talk about confidential?

Yes—with a few legal exceptions. What you share stays between us, unless there’s a risk of harm to yourself or others. We’ll go over this in more detail in our first meeting.

Do I need to have a specific problem to start therapy?

Not at all. Some people come in during a crisis, others just feel stuck or want space to reflect. Therapy is a place for self-exploration, growth, and support—wherever you're starting from.

What should I expect in the first session?

The first session (often called an intake) is a time for us to get to know each other. I'll ask some questions about what brings you to therapy, your background, and what you're hoping to get out of our work together. You’re welcome to ask me questions too—it's important that you feel comfortable with the process.

What if I’m not sure therapy is right for me?

That’s completely okay. Many people start therapy unsure of what to expect. I offer a free 15-minute consultation so you can ask questions, share a bit about what you're looking for, and see if it feels like a good fit—no pressure.

Do you work with people from different cultural backgrounds?

Yes. I bring a multicultural lens to my work and honor the ways culture, family, spirituality and identity shape each person's experience. Therapy should be a space where all parts of who you are feel seen and respected.
