Consultation
If you're feeling a bit unsure about what to say or what this consultation will be like, you're not alone. Many people feel this way—especially when reaching out for support for the first time. This short guide is here to help you feel a little more at ease.
A gentle guide to ease any nerves
What the call is (& isn’t)
This isn’t a therapy session — it's a brief, informal conversation to see if we’re a good fit to work together. You don’t have to prepare anything formal or have all the right words. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you in and what you’re hoping to get out of therapy.
You Don’t Have to Share Everything
You can share as much or as little as you’d like. It's okay if you're not sure how to describe what you’re going through—we can figure that out together. Even just saying “I’m not sure how to start” is a perfectly fine place to begin.
You’re Welcome to Ask:
What a typical session might look like
What my style is as a therapist
If I’ve worked with similar concerns
Anything else you’re curious about!
A Few Things We Might Cover:
What’s bringing you to therapy
What kind of support you’re hoping for
Any practical needs (like scheduling or fees)
Any questions about how I work
A Safe Space
Even though this isn’t a session, it’s still a safe and private space. It's okay to feel nervous or unsure - I’m here to make this process as comfortable and respectful as possible.
