Intake Session
Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other, set the foundation for our work together, and begin exploring what brings you to therapy. Here's what you can generally expect:
What to expect in your intake session
Gathering background informaiton
We’ll talk about your current concerns as well as your personal history — including things like family, relationships, mental health history, and significant life events — to help me understand your unique context.
Explaining the therapy process
I’ll share more about how I work, what you can expect from therapy, and answer any questions you have about confidentiality, telehealth, or my approach.
Clarifying goals for therapy
Together, we’ll identify what you'd like to work on in therapy. You don’t need to have clear goals figured out yet — we’ll explore them collaboratively.
Creating a comfortable space
There’s no pressure to share everything at once. You’re in control of what you share and when. This is a space where you can go at your own pace.
Reviewing consent & logistics
We’ll briefly review consent forms, fees, scheduling, and other practical details so you know what to expect moving forward
Beginning the work
If time and comfort allow, we may begin gently exploring your experiences and how they’ve been showing up in your life.
